Applied Scientist Manager / アプライド サイエンティストマネージャー

Job description



  • Shepherd research and development of innovative geo-solutions working closely with sales and engineering teams
  • Provide technical supervision and optimize R&D process to maximize Applied Scientist team’s performance
  • Help develop long-term technology roadmaps of solution development in company-wide perspective
  • Provide mentorship and career guidance to the members and hire highly skilled scientists to cause continuous growth of your team

Job requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of practical experience in applying machine learning, computer vision, image processing, or related fields of technologies to solve real-world problems
  • Strong knowledge and implementation skill of statistics and machine learning algorithms
  • 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with both experts and non-experts in Japanese as well as English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, machine learning, applied math, data science, or equivalent field
  • Publications at peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience in handling satellite images or GIS data
  • Knowledge of the generation process of electro-optical or SAR satellite imagery

  • 機械学習、コンピュータビジョン、画像処理等の実務経験5年以上
  • 統計および機械学習理論に関する卓越した知識とそれらの実装能力
  • 技術チームのマネジメント経験2年以上
  • 日本語および英語のコミュニケーション能力


  • コンピュータサイエンス、統計学、機械学習、応用数学、データサイエンス等の分野における修士号または博士号
  • 査読付き学会や学術誌における採択経験
  • 衛星画像やGISデータのハンドリング経験
  • 光学衛星画像やSAR衛星画像の観測・生成過程に関する知識

    Compensation & Arrangements:
    • Employment system: Full-time(Nontenured). All members are contract-based employees. The contract is renewed in every 6 months based on Management by objective to assist individual growth and team growth
